DARK-THUNDERING MORNING

DARK-THUNDERING MORNING

Monday morning grey

With rumble in the air….

Forecasts are for little rain

But lots of afternoon fare.

Storm coming in a steady front

Advancing through the night…

Three or more inches some may receive,

Prompting flash flood fright.

We up on higher ground

Anticipate the storm…

Power poles are easily knocked down,

Then how will we stay warm?

HONOR THE LORD WITH THY TONGUE

HONOR THE LORD WITH THY TONGUE

My Lord knows that when I’m stretched

I can’t keep it all together…

It’s not in the big things I act a wretch,

But in calmer weather.

I don’t have an excuse letting down my guard,

And singing a tune off-key…

Yet each of us have our baggage to claim

And that definitely includes me!

An impulsive comment that rises within

Is often my stumbling block…

Tho’ my lips start moving at some pretty girl,

I never or rarely take stock.

My wife’s had her problems, my medicine’s low,

While doubts and fears abound…

The Lord has my back as I well-know

Keeping my tongue on higher ground!!!!

MUMFORD RIVER HEADER

MUMFORD RIVER HEADER

This Mumford River header

On a sunny autumn day,

Was taken at Capron Falls

In Uxbridge, that-a-way…

I don’t think it’s original to me

But on Google it was found,

I’m glad I live upstream from here

On slightly higher ground!
