Hope Rests Secure

Christ the Lord has called us to be holy and pure.
He gives us the direction and strength to stand sure.
Therefore, let us prepare ourselves for life of action,
We’re to be active, spreading the Love of God‘s Son.

With a clear and sober mind focus on God’s grace,
He will be returning to take us to a better place.
We no longer have to conform to our old way,
Christ came so we would know of a better way.

Christ the Son of God called us, and He is Holy.
So we can conduct as children of God pure and holy.
The ransom has been paid, not with silver or gold,
But with Christ’s own precious blood, forever bold.

We through Him believe, and know He was raised,
It is in God our faith dwells, may He be praised.
His mercy forgave our dark sins, making us pure,
And it is in Him that our faith and hope rests secure.

By your mighty hand you lifted me,

Your power my enemies did see…

For your loving blessing in all you do

With my last breath I will praise you.

You alone are my God and my King,

I know you are with me in everything:

In weakness when illness seized me

I called on you and you set me free,

You paid the price my soul to save

And rose again, a new life you gave…

I’ll sing your praises–I’ll never quit–

You spared me from that evil pit.

In your mercy I rest day and night,

That I may praise you in your holy light…

Wrapped in the warmth of your grace,

I rejoice in the piece of your holy place.

The storms will come and winds blow

But I’ll not be shaken in what I know:

The Lord my God has shown mercy to me

And my life now will a living witness be.

THAT FINAL DAY, by Carl Gooch

That Final Day
Listen close all of you people;
Heed the words of the wise.
Hear it ring from, the steeple,
To comfort you and dry your eyes
Turn your ears to the proverbs,
They are revealed in the heart.
Spoken by the prophets suburb,
So truth from you will not depart.
Our eyes will see many wise men die;
And the fool and senseless also perish.
The rich man will lose his wealth and cry,
For it was the only thing he did cherish.
For none of us can redeem another,
Or buy them back from the grave.
The ransom is too high my brother,
No payment is ever enough to save.
I do not fear the days to come,
When the wicked surrounds me.
I do not trust in riches as some,
But in the One who died to save me.
I walk in His mercy led by His grace;
It is by His will I live for Him each day.
My greatest reward is to see His face;
As He calls me home on that final day.
