PRESENTS HERSELF

PRESENTS HERSELF

She presents herself in front of me,

Asking about my wife…

Engaging in small talk pleasantly

Making me a part of her life.

It’s not an obligation

But a friendly “keep in touch”…

Showing consideration

That always means so much.

She could have, like others,

Ignored me by now…

Content with more important folk

To enhance her career flow!

I’m not exactly little

But sure am a guy…

So nice being remembered,

Some day I’ll ask her why.

LIMERICK ABOUT REGRETS

LIMERICK ABOUT REGRETS

Alas, I’ve blogged too much

Of other issues and such…

The problem with me

Is I like to be

Interested in other’s touch.

TIME TO HANG ON…

TIME TO HANG ON…

Again it’s layoff time

And people are inclined…

To pull back much

But keep in touch,

Even if they are resigned.

Underlying fear,

Is snaking through the folks here…

We want to hold on

To those who respond,

For whom we’ll shed biggest tears.

Perhaps a recent hug

From an appreciative fan for this lug…

Makes me more aware

Of folks who really care

And for whom these layoffs really bug!

You want to tightly grab hold,

Shielded from a corporate cold…

Desperately

With someone to see

You through changes so bold.

People who want me

To continue sending poetry…

Give a different address

To reduce the stress

Of an excuse by the company.

I feel it toward certain friends,

Surprised that some don’t want to end…

Contact with me,

Getting poetry

And voicing that desired intent.

EXERCISING HER FINGERS

EXERCISING HER FINGERS

My wife keeps her fingers limber

Crocheting blankets that glimmer…

With family love

By a gentle shove,

That baby’s fam’ly will remember.

Not many in her family write,

One or two may stay in sight…

She loves them so much

To stay in touch,

She prays for them all day and night.
