GRASP LIGHTLY!

Grasp lightly in your hand,

Bloggers are grains of sand…

So many slip loose

It’s not yours to choose,

Nor permanence to demand.

Most of us “follow” by Reader,

This way is often neater…

Then by email,

In Boxes assailed,

Without having to be the greeter.

So many have slipped away,

It’s tough thinking of any who stayed…

We circulate

Following is great,

Listening to other songs being played!

Learn as bloggers have done,

Don’t tightly grip anyone…

Let them be

Unselfishly,

When they want to, they’ll come!

DEPRESSION REGRESSION???

Depression regression he’s seen,

Stuck in an old daydream…

Working hard

To grab and retard,

The losing of self esteem!

It’s easy to go back in time,

When drawing a sandy line…

Things aren’t too bad

But you’ve lost what you had—

Obsessing is a waste of time!

Growing up begins,

Realizing that nobody wins…

As far as age

You’ve had the stage,

It’s time to stop rooting through bins!

BROKE THEIR BONDS!

BROKE THEIR BONDS

A sense of meaning maintained

In things we wish retained…

Aunt Mary’s throw

Is important, ya know,

For remembering the same.

Materials held in reserve

One day may just serve…

In projects rare

So leave them there,

A pack rat would observe.

Possessions tell stories

Of former family glories…

He won that “Oscar”

For being the top, sir,

In high school portrayal of glories!

And then reality hits,

Time to let go of this…

No room to keep

It’s cost is too steep,

Say goodbye or be homeless.

They came to that conclusion

And felt it as a contusion…

It cut to the heart

For them to part–

It took some friends’ collusion.

They managed to pass the test

Their friends helped them enter God’s rest…

They have let go

Letting God know

He’ll be worshipped and not the rest.

LIKE A MINI-VACATION!

LIKE A MINI-VACATION!

He overslept–two-thirty–

The week was slow and dirty…

But pressure was off

And he, less gruff,

Was getting a little flirty!

His over-tensed-up life

Was rough on him and his wife…

Friday appeared

With stormy clouds cleared,

The end of week-long strife.

So he over-slept today,

Felt good to be okay…

Woke an hour before

He flew out the door

And heard his wife say…thank you! đŸ™‚

TWO EMPTY CHAIRS

TWO EMPTY CHAIRS

Two empty chairs at the window,

Waiting for someone to sit…

Someone who’ll watch for hours

Keeping watch over all of it.

One has for months been in rehab,

Another man has moved…

His “replacement” fell and broke something

Where a change of address was behooved.

Nobody here has the time

To sit down and just watch…

We miss our friends who were living

Here, wishing one or two could come back to catch–

Mists in the morning quietness

And people going to and fro…

None of us left are quiet enough

To sit down and let go.

SLEEPY-EYED WEEKEND

SLEEPY-EYED WEEKEND

All weekend he fell right to sleep,

Slumbering long hours deep…

He had to address

An emotional mess,

Takes energy, tension to keep!

LETTING IT GO

“–He sat straight up in bed—“

(GOOGLE)

LETTING IT GO

As everyone who is stressed knows,

It’s not always what they’ve “chose”…

That gets them down

Below the ground,

They’ve got to let  the stress go!

My Dad, Mom once said,

Had too much to worry his head…

Many things to do

And factor into,

He was getting no rest in bed.

Until it happened one night

That Dad gave Mom a fright…

Sat straight up in need,

Said, “Lord take the lead!,”

Fell back and slept through the night.

I often wish in His Name,

That I could do the same…

I have to let go

Of the things I don’t know,

To give God all of my game.

My struggles are because of “me”

Not believing God’s Word humbly…

Total resting on Him

Causes blessing to begin,

And then I will sleep comfortably.
