MY APOLOGIES TO MR. BOWIE
(And Herman too, for that matter)
–
Mr. Bowie’s an indoor cat,
Deterred easily by snow and that…
If he were “outdoor”
He would not implore,
A thin layer of snow is old hat.
–
When a cat’s “inside”,
Any outside weather is spied…
As excuse for the box
Behind door locks,
Clean litter will not be denied!
–
The first cat I owned had heart,
And access to a stealthy art…
With silent warning
Pusscat would be forming,
In the midst of a purr–a fart.
–
Silent cat farts are unique,
We’d had three cats that reeked…
They didn’t understand
That we thought it not grand,
Trouble breathing made it hard to speak!
–
So, most excellent Bowie, take heart,
Springtime will invade your park…
With pollen sneezes
Will come gentle breezes
To carry away any cat fart.
