AQUIFER THANKS

AQUIFER THANKS

Deep snow of which folks complained

Helped the water table more than if it rained…

Snow pack, THANKS–

Aquifer tanks–

Are full once more, not drained!

NO DIFFERENT “DOWN EAST”

NO DIFFERENT “DOWN EAST”

We’d like to visit Maine,

But now it’s much the same…

Melting snow piles

And weary smiles

Waiting for springtime plain.

Like us they’re tired

Alternately wired…

By long hours

Fighting snow showers

Paying the extra plows hired.

Nearly out of salt

To keep up the lively assault…

Snow-covered roads,

Icy ones goad

Town employees to help out.

ADIRONDACK SOLITUDE

ADIRONDACK SOLITUDE

(A Poet’s view?)

Varied sizes drifting down

In a snowflake feathery feed…

On and off weak light of sun,

But clouds make snow, indeed.

No accumulation great

Nor drifting due to wind…

Angled down with little swirl,

Angel dandruff floats on in!

Snow clouds gain the upper hand

In early afternoon…

Grey is the color of daylight

As he writes in the dining room.

Temperature ranges just above

The freezing mark to melt….

A little snow off of the car,

In a mountain-high snow belt.
