LI’L DONKEY MY FIRST TRAIN!

Aurora went into trains,

Memory of this one remains…

In N scale,

It would not fail,

But burnt one out hauling heavy scrap metal remains!

It hauled heavy loads up a hill,

Seven and one half percent, by sheer will…

Drive wheels slipped

At too steep a tip,

A break in a rail stalled and it stopped still.

For parts I bought two or three,

It runs near endlessly….

A blast from the past

Whose heritage lasts,

My MINITRIX Li’l Donkey!

JUST ONE TRACK…?

JUST ONE TRACK…?

Problems with model train trackage,

Is not apparent on the package…

Different symmetries

Bring one to one’s knees,

With significant “crackage!”

Different brands of track

Means one learns a knack…

Of mix and match

With earnest dispatch,

To give the project a whack!

Do I cut a little piece clearly

Or replace a whole section nearly…

In order to see

If that works for me,

For replacements I have paid dearly.

I’ll run me test trains

To tell if I used my brains…

One electrical short

Blocks good sport,

(At least…can I run  on the mains?)

N SCALE ALCO BONANZA!

N SCALE ALCO BONANZA!

He spent on an extravaganza,

An n scale ALCO bonanza…

Locomotives galore

Put in a drawer,

For when his layout expands-ah!

He got them all through E-bay,

But now he must go away…

From tempting things,

Cash register rings,

He’s got rent and bills to pay!  🙂

MODEL TRAIN CERTAINTIES

MODEL TRAIN CERTAINTIES

Did you notice model train tracks

Require power packs

Plugged in power

Billed by watt-hour,

Those used to be the facts.

Amazing—now a smart phone

Can be used controlling alone…

And battery powers

Last two hours,

All this and a whistle ring tone!

MISSED MY CHANCE…ANOTHER YEAR

MISSED MY CHANCE…ANOTHER YEAR

A parking lot sweeper

Is taking stuff I thought a keeper…

Colored sand

In demand,

It really is a weeper!

Ballasting my model trains,

I thought that these sand grains…

Properly sized

Utilized

Would look good out on “the main”.

There was plenty there,

Until swept up (no fair!)…

Now I argue

The thing to do

Is to wire the track with care.

Then…maybe next year

My situation will clear…

Scooping up sand

With modeling hand,

To provide scenic railroad cheer!

IS IT A MAN’S WORLD????

  IS IT A MAN’S WORLD????

(Google Image)*

A man’s world it seems to be,

So the focus accordingly…

Is on what or who

Can best draw them to

Be interested to some degree.

There are a few lady train nuts,

Master Modelers, no ifs or buts…

Should ads then

Use “Chippendale” men,**

Increasing sales to women thus???
