MIDNIGHT MOUNTAIN REFLECTIONS

MIDNIGHT MOUNTAIN REFLECTIONS

Moonlight on Crane Mountain,*

Godly glow around…

Take stock of blessings

Listening creation sounds.

Cool as dew has fallen,

Not cold enough to freeze…

Hear the Master calling:

Love Me more than these?

Wood stove warms against the cold,

Sit we either side…

Talking far into the night

In our Lord’s love abide!

MODERN LIFE CONUNDRUM

MODERN LIFE CONUNDRUM

(a semi-romantic view)

Commute by the light of the moon,

But don’t expect sleep til noon…

One cannot steer

One’s own life here,

So must carve out down time soon!

WINTER FAERIES’ JUBILEE

WINTER FAERIES’ JUBILEE

Winter faeries in the night

Block out rays of pale moonlight…

Snow is flying,

Faeries crying

In the wind to cause men fright.

Winter faeries riding horses,

Winged steeds in circling courses…

On the wind,

Drifting in

Works of man by natural forces.

Faeries work like busy beavers,

Prompting colds and aching fevers…

Sliding down shovelers’ necks

Glad to bestow either sex,

Especially stalwart high achievers!

The faeries work is to fool

Humans back to faeries’ rule…

Bringing myth

To reality drift,

Send those humans back to school.

Faeries have a jubilee

While men worry needlessly…

Mythical creatures

Are but features,

Of a nature one can’t see!
