N SCALE INVENTORY REDUCTION

A necessary story,

Reducing inventory….

Too much to store–

Can’t buy any more–

The results of trying it–gory!

Collection reduction in size,

With E-Bay he had bigger eyes…

Not all fit

So get rid of it,

Someone else gets a pleasant surprise!

KATO, LIFE-LIKE and more,

Model trains I’ve seen before…

Standardizing

Is realizing,

Maintaining many brands is a chore!*

(Is for the real railroads, too!)

What to do with the proceeds,

If any—for charitable deeds…

Perhaps the Boy Scouts–

A troop hereabouts–

May have some project needs?

*NOTE: Am selecting ATLAS AND BACHMANN, PRIMARILY  All of my ALCOs are ATLAS…WITH A FEW EXCEPTIONS.

REPRISE: THE LOST BODY SHELL

REPRISE; THE LOST BODY SHELL

(refer to “LIKE THE LOST COIN” November 25, 2015)

Rejoice for the lost is  found,

Join in as we dance around…

That one body shell

Is safe and well,

Had fallen apart on the ground!

I found it underneath

Where I’d looked but brief…

Took days to find

Peace of mind,

BOY–do I feel relief!

Having recovered my prize,

It fit pretty good otherwise…

Newly installed

On a chassis and all,

Results are a pleasant surprise!

MY N-SCALE MODEL TRAIN LAYOUT UPDATE

MY N-SCALE MODEL TRAIN LAYOUT UPDATE

Seeing another’s planning

Has me thinking too….

There’s not enough room on the layout

For passenger trains coming through!

I have a long spur behind the station

That could tie back into the main…

I have a curved turnout elsewhere

That would help my passenger train.

Other side of this spur, a turntable,

That I’ve yet to install…

Would turn single-ended locomotives

So I could run them all!

Changing plans is nothing new with me,

It’s a fun part and I do it…

Appreciating the whole hobby

I decided and must get to it.

N SCALE ALCO’S

N SCALE ALCOS

American Locomotive COmpany,

Their products are alright by me…

Smaller ALCOs you spot,

For me, I’ve a lot,

Of each model at least two or three!

N scale doesn’t take up much room,

But neither can you hear the “VAROOM!”…

I recently found

N scale can have sound,

In an RS-1 soon, I’d assume!

-My Road Switcher ones, teos and threes,*

Will all be afixed with “KA-DEE’s”…**

Easy switching of freight,

A prototype trait,

Running it anywhere one may please!

–Jonathan Caswell

* Road Switcher….”R,S, -1,2,3″

**”KA-DEE”‘s….Now Mircotrains…offshoot of the same company, producing workable knuckle couplers that look more like the real train couplers than other brands.

GENESSEE AND WYOMING RIDES AGAIN!

GENESSEE AND WYOMING RIDES AGAIN

(In N scale)

I bought the RS-1 shell,

Got an SD-9 as well…

Portland and Western

SD-9 was festering

In my mind till it would sell.

The P & W subsidary

Is a west coast extraordinary…

Lumber-hauling line,

My SD-9

will keep the RS-1 quite merry!

N SCALE ALCO BONANZA!

N SCALE ALCO BONANZA!

He spent on an extravaganza,

An n scale ALCO bonanza…

Locomotives galore

Put in a drawer,

For when his layout expands-ah!

He got them all through E-bay,

But now he must go away…

From tempting things,

Cash register rings,

He’s got rent and bills to pay!  🙂

–Jonathan Caswell

ADDING ALCO’S

ADDING ALCO’S

His E-bay escapades,

Built up his roster aways…

Five more RS-1’s

(He had the funds)

RS-3’s we’ll know in a couple days.

He realizes at most two

Or three at a time will do…

But options are wild

For train consists filed,

With layout work still to do!
