FASHIONABLE FAT PERSON.

Alas, you see who this is,

His girth is a part of who he is…

Not always in tune

Being round like the moon,

He’s accepting who he is!

Note the American flag,

Prominent on his shopping bag…

Indeed well-worn

For all those on foreign,

Shores—don’t let Old Glory sag!

Seems to be wearing denim pants,

Faded and shortened (a chance)…

Look at the smile

In him there is no guile,

But he has a cane–don’t ask him to dance!

PHOTO-BACKDROP

Stark color cut-out

Against darkened sky…

Sun illuminated trees

Like a photo—glued high!

Old Glory in full sun, waves–

Languid in cold air…

Lower down on this pole

Shadows gather there.

Dusk creeps in from the bottom,

Tree tops and flag poles last…

Darkening after sunset

Lengthening shadows cast.

GLORY IN THE SKY

Ron called me outside to see,

A rainbow framing Old Glory…

Ron’s camera frame

Couldn’t hold all of same,

The whole scene  worked wonderfully!

RAISED UP AGAIN

A skill  firmly in the bag,

Returning OLD GLORY, the flag…

From half-staff past

To the top of the mast,

The end of its mourning sag.

LIT UP ALL NIGHT

LIT UP ALL NIGHT

There is an American flag

Along the road at “Direnzo’s”

Being lighted up at night

Honoring Patriot heroes.

It is for those who died

And for all those who stayed,

When fresh victims cried

Came rushing to their aid.

In other places I’m told

The same thing might not be so…

Where for endangered lives

Help so easily flowed.

The flag by this roadside

Remains lit up all night,

For brave Americans running

Toward danger for what is right.
