CRUNCHING ICE…ON DUTY

Crunching ice–water is low,

Just happens I have to go…

Off to check

An on-going project,

That fire’s not ready to blow!

The long weekend it’s been fine,

Security checks time-to-time…

If smoke or fire

Shut down’s required,

Not letting the temperature climb.

Dispensed my water no ice,

This little walk’s been nice…

Quietly

Evening proceeds,

With a little spice!

THOUGHTS WHILE CLOSING A GATE

Remembering all the fruity

People once on duty…

Each with a quirk

They brought to work,

And some were downright snooty.

Gate closed without snapping the lock,

How many new guards did that shock…

Thinking they

Know the right way,

Not realizing the client was tops.

Questioning this and that,

Training to them was old hat…

Showing stuff

Was hardly enough,

“There must be a reason for that!”

In a way I’m glad those days

Are gone in security haze…

Working alone

I’m right at home,

Without vulgar attitude displays.

HALLOWEEN GUARD SHACK

HALLOWEEN GUARD SHACK

The boss says we can dress up,

October 31st in costumes…

I tried to do this before

And it’s not what one assumes.

We can come to work

Costumed as Security Guards…

We cannot go trick-or-treating

Or scare employees  in courtyards.

But if we are off duty,

We are free in how we dress…

Can you just see fifty-year-old kids

Causing the neighbors distress?
