A MATTER OF PRIORITIES

A MATTER OF PRIORITIES

Working two jobs at a time,

On the same day may be fine…

For younger blokes

Who pay for smokes,

But I’ve got to stay in line.

When at a guard shack post,

Cars sneak up like ghosts…

Upon you so quick

You’d better stick

To looking out for them the most!

Thus spending time writing verse

Could turn out to be a curse…

Not concentrating

On the job could be fating

A guard for unemployment or worse.

But a number of slow times there are,

To be watchful for that truck or car…

That may try to sneak

Past before you speak

About renewing that temporary permit card.

Writing becomes rather terse

When it’s too busy to write verse….

But it can be done

When slow times come,

Without the effects so adverse!

THE WAITING ROOM READ

THE WAITING ROOM READ

Reading magazines whilst I waited,

Unusually recently dated…

Normally

They are two or three

Years since they were circulated!

ISN’T IT UPDATE TIME?

ISN’T IT UPDATE TIME???

I hate using computer “spell-check”,

Like a popped pimple it gives me heck…

I think 5th grade

Is the level it’s made,

Not as “smart” as one would suspect.

My poetry’s in language old,

And other word usages bold…

But the English it uses

A High Schooler refuses,

To use, shouldn’t someone be told?????

OLD BILLING

OLD BILLING

Discarding some out-of-date bills

Provides those latent-time thrills…

Ripping them in small pieces

That identity theft ceases,

While the current batch around us builds!
