NO “MOO”

NO “MOO”!

Tuesday in the morning

We ran out of milk…

Had no extra creamer,

No satin or silk.

Almonds or soybeans

We couldn’t “juice” instead…

Not enough deposit money

To get ahead!

Whatcha gonna do?

Go buy some liquid “moo”…

Early on payday morning

Dance a quick skidoo!

THE SIGH OF RELIEF

THE SIGH OF RELIEF

Payday has come–in brief–

We heave a sigh of relief…

Not out of the woods

But in the black–good–

‘Though spending is on a short lease.

Edging back from the breach,

Defying our temptations to preach…

Back from the dead

Financially said,

To do anything is a reach!

SCROUNGING WEDNESDAY NIGHT

SCROUNGING WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Laundry money goes in the till

A gas tank to partially fill…

Supper’s demand

Generally from a can

And peanut butter at will.

Tomorrow is payday,

We got home and are okay…

The check’s nearly spent

On various events,

And pay the electric, by the way!

Why can’t we just spend it now,

Not wait for the morning crow…

Banking regs

Prevent us eggs

From being too much of a sow.

So much rides each week

On payday—as we speak–

Creditors gather

In states of lather

To prey on the paid, up a creek!

JUST SLIGHTLY…OUT OF WHACK

JUST SLIGHTLY…OUT OF WHACK

We have the money she said,

To buy that folding bed…

I’ll just call,

Confirming it all–

But the phone was dead!

THURSDAY THOUGHTS

THURSDAY THOUGHTS

Making a list and checking it twice,

The wife wants me find pumpkin spice…

The meds I have got

Sure cost a lot,

But being healthy will be nice.

I have to put gas in the car,

Or next week we won’t get far…

Have to pay down bills

As insurance wills,

Or driving the car will be barred.

The Missus wants a new dress,

It doesn’t cost too much, I guess…

Train calendar for me

And let me see,

A new mop to clean up floor mess!

She’ll want some treat when I’m home.

Will peppermint pretzels atone…

For my being a grouch

When she hollers “OUCH”

With pain when I return home?

She sure has been good to me,

I wish I could guarantee…

We always can

Get what we planned,

Instead of saying, “we’ll see!”

AN HOUR’S DIFFERENCE

AN HOUR’S DIFFERENCE

It took an hour or less

Of difference for a mess…

Instead of freedom

He got more “C” from

The banking and paycheck process.

He’d hoped to time things just right,

To be in “the black” that night…

But instead,

His hopes were dead

By timing ever so slight.

So now he’s back in the hole,

A little less, but little control…

On any one item

That crucifies him,

He wishes he could crawl in one, now!

THURSDAY NIGHT’S ALRIGHT

THURSDAY NIGHT’S ALRIGHT FOR WRITING!!!

One more writing day to go

When the output tends to slow…

On weekends

I can’t play with friends,

‘Cause we are disconnected for “sho”!

Our payday has come and gone,

We got enough to go on…

It got hectic

Paying the electric,

But it’s paid and nothing went wrong.

Received only one message terse,

That my output became a curse…

They asked for removal,

I met their approval

Now there’s one less receiver of verse.

I have to get ready for rounds,

Which is simpler than it first sounds…

One round a night

Then I can write,

The rest of my time, within bounds!
