According to your holy word

Grant your servant’s request….

Teach me your way, O Lord

That I may stand the test.

Guide my judgment–let it be wise–

And my heart be pure in your eyes…

Help me to follow your command,

Strengthen me to reach out my hand.

Keep me humble, keep me true,

For my salvation is found in you…

When tender souls have need

Let it be on your love they feed.

Let my hands reach out with your love

Proclaiming the way to heaven above…

You are the truth, the light, the way,

In all I do–may you be revealed today!

Some people think it a gas

To bring up faux pas from the past…

Riding on the back

Of the current hack,

Depending on stereotypes cast.

Lovers and haters alike

Really enjoy good fights…

As long as you win

It’s worth tucking in,

To parties and dinners at nights!

For me, I tend to get busy,

Spinning around makes me dizzy…

I can’t play the game

With old “what’s his name”

Without acid reflux getting fizzy.

At present it seems to be

Just one big old party…

Saying nearly the same

Under another name,

I doubt they really care for me.

While the country slides into hell,

Those folks all live very well….

With a Pres. who spends

As much as it extends,

And as much of the country he can sell!

Problem is, the other side’s nearly the same,

Just as whacked out with power and fame…

We little folks hunker

Down in the bunker,

The only ones feeling national shame?

It is a common thing

To wrap oneself in pride…

Missing a message presented,

By casting common sense aside!

A railroad modeller I admire

Had shown just what to do…

I would have caught what transpired,

If I had read things through.

Feeders and jumpers mean little

To the general public’s mind…

But for model trains it means a lot,

How could I be so blind?

A simple result:  his DCC,

While mine is DC cab…

I thought using jumpers between tracks

As he did, wouldn’t be bad.

I re-read the article again and again

And finally occurred to me…

I needed FEEDERS to power MY track,

No wonder my power was weak.

So David, if you are list’ning,

I tried to do the right thing…

I have to rework my own mistakes

And remember to READ EVERYTHING!

PLEASE NOTE:  For anyone who wishes an excellent article on wiring model train layouts–assuming you read everything carefully—see a part of David Popp’s “Step by Step” Series, MODEL RAILROADER MAGAZINE, especially in the June, 2005 issue, pp. 36-40.   He uses Digital Command Control to power his layout, and makes that clear that that wiring is different than for Direct Current cab control.  More info. available at www.modelrailroader.com.
