This seems to be his day,
For changing–forsaking his way–
Sarah, his friend,
Helped him tend
To cleaning up his display!

The danger he ought to see…

To Sarah, booking
It out of here yearning to be free!

SARAH WITH AN “H”
–
Th eye doctor has a jewel
Called Sarah with an “H”…
A redhead I remember from last year
Who has many positive traits!
–
Her folks from Lancaster county, PA,
And she lived up near Cooperstown..
She knows on the map where Binghamton is,
All places I’ve been around.
–
Found out that she likes poetry
and was willing to take a look…
At a blog (this one!) she just learned about
And on Thursday, she’ll receive my book.
–
How pleasant she is–professional too–
Shifting patients with caring and grace…
I’d be honored to be under her care
When next I visit the place!

MY PASSING FRIEND
–
She’s the only one who remarked
About my freshly shorn hair…
The one who always stops
To smile when I’m there.
–
She is a good friend in passing
Nearly every night…
Never for harassing
But for spreading delight!
–
The ending of Sarah’s workday
Near the beginning of mine….
Coincides with a pleasant exchange
For one passing point of time.
–Jonathan Caswell
IS IT HER?
That newly employed young woman,
Is she the one who rushed…
By my desk all summer
Whose face was sometimes flushed?
–
The one for whom I wrote some verse
That fit her to a “T”…
An intern whose been hired full-time,
This “Sarah”–is it she?
–
The face looks sort of familiar,
Her posture is more erect…
Her attitude is rather friendly–
Is that all that I detect?
–
She’s happy to be with us,
Her host kept her I.D….
He knew that she’d be hired
And that ‘s all right by me!

ABRAM OUT OF EGYPT
(Genesis 13)
Living in Egypt so long,
Abram grew more rich and strong…
With Sarah returned,
For whom Pharoah burned
The Lord said, it’s time–move along!
–
Like the coming up of springtime crocus,
The Lord said it’s time to refocus…
In again on Me
And what will be,
Get away from Egypt’s hocus-pocus.
–
Take care of whom you’ve got,
Including that young fellow, Lot…
The two of you crowd
The other so proud,
There isn’t a big enough spot!
–
You take one way, Lot the other,
Sarah will soon be a mother…
So focus on Me
And My guarantee
That you will be blessed like no other.
–Jonathan Caswell
Remember Sarah
Those who toil for the Lord,
Those who weep bitter tears;
The Lord will lift them up
And they will sing songs of joy.
During hard times they stood,
The hand of God held them.
Soon they will see the harvest,
And know their great reward.
Their doubts were conquered,
Their faith now remains forever.
They have walked through the fire
And God protected their path.
Remember Sarah, she laughed.
But the Lord’s promise was true.
What Sarah thought was impossible
Sarah soon found as a blessing.
As we face our trials in this world
We may feel battered and bruised.
God is faithful, God knows your pain.
Trust in Him and victory you will obtain.
