Fortify my nights…

Catch as catch can

For mortal man,

Whatever comes into sight!

Sampled kitchen leftovers,

Manicotti…over and over…

The overcooked sauce

I considered loss,

But then, I’m a late-night drover.

I took my insulin

And shoveled more food in…

Cold fish cakes and stuff

Were more than enough

To keep me from wearing thin.

–

Oh yeah, I do have an apple,

Another “cold” food to grapple…

Prob’ly going home,

Under my car dome

While finishing a bottle of SNAPPLE*.
