WHY I DON’T DO POLITICS…

WHY I DON’T DO POLITICS…

Some people think it a gas

To bring up faux pas from the past…

Riding on the back

Of the current hack,

Depending on stereotypes cast.

Lovers and haters alike

Really enjoy good fights…

As long as you win

It’s worth tucking in,

To parties and dinners at nights!

For me, I tend to get busy,

Spinning around makes me dizzy…

I can’t play the game

With old “what’s his name”

Without acid reflux getting fizzy.

At present it seems to be

Just one big old party…

Saying nearly the same

Under another name,

I doubt they really care for me.

While the country slides into hell,

Those folks all live very well….

With a Pres. who spends

As much as it extends,

And as much of the country he can sell!

Problem is, the other side’s nearly the same,

Just as whacked out with power and fame…

We little folks hunker

Down in the bunker,

The only ones feeling national shame?

AGING FOR THE YOUNG

AGING FOR THE YOUNG

It’s hard to look at aging

With hormones a-raging…

But easier still

To know you will,

But it will not be your youth upstaging!

For some of us, our prime

Was years ago in time…

We feel “kinda” squirrelly,

We got old too early

And missed out on those miracle enzymes!

For others, young love is ending,

(It hurts too much doing the bending)

That “empty gun”**

Is worn out son,

Don’t waste time in spending or pretending.

–Jonathan Caswell

**”empty gun”  is an analogy used in bawdier vaudeville routines.

IT GOES FOR—WHAT?

IT GOES–FOR WHAT?

I guess there’ll be no more drama,

No withheld refund by Obama…

The I.R.S.

Is okay, I guess,

No one took it to the Bahamas.

We’ve taken some to put away,

For overdue vacation some day…

Some for tithe

And some to survive

A little longer ’til pay.

The rest must go into the car,

Without which, we’d not go far…

Muffling the sound

Of a tailpipe resound,

And other things that have traveled too far.

And to cover for the rent,

This amount is heaven-sent…

So much to pay,

Cam we get away

With spending 200%?
