BELIEVE HIM!

Believe the Bible which says,

There are three parts of you always…

Spirit, soul

And body–one whole–

All have a role intense.

–

Your spirit God makes alive,

Perfect and holy inside…

Spirit and soul

A training role,

Helps the soul in Christ abide.*

–

The body–the flesh–will fight

Against reason and Light…

Sow to the flesh

It may never mesh,

While the other two are what is right.

–

Emotions and feelings okay,

But don’t be swept away…

Your will is key

To eternity,

What will you choose each day?

LISTEN TO HIS SPIRIT

LISTEN TO HIS SPIRIT

A mystic you need not be

To listen and be set free….

But listen you must

In Spiritual trust,

Coming clean gradually.

From Scripture and messages given,

Thoughts directed by heaven…

Bringing to mind

To which we were blind,

Flour to exclude from leaven.*

–

One former elder thought

Justified in attention sought…

In ministry

To his Pastor he’d be

A personal resource, he ought.

–

In past times this worked well

For Pastors the best he could tell…

Changing circumstances

Brought little boy dances

Inside his mind so shrill.

–

Another inner circle was there,

His “teacher’s pet” mentality laid bare…

Opened at the seams

His boyish schemes

Saw sunshine and fresh air.

–

Humbled and repented,

His “rivals” he no longer resented…

Seeing the Lord’s way

Was not child’s play,

Clearing hurdles as they are presented.

Some are tempted to claim collusion

When preachers each share a conclusion…

Several programs

With the same topic can

Be subject to coincidence exclusion.

Each are done independently

As is Bible reading done by me…

Months ago most prepared

The subjects now aired,

The Spirit then draws me and thee!

The Spirit shouts through more than one…

The way that God wants it done.

Listen to the call of God’s Spirit

Through His people at large….

Common elements in each one of them,

Shout out our Lord’s charge.
