SIDEBOARDS…AWAY!

Springtime at work is here

When the canopied entrance clears…

Its side panels fled

To a storage shed,

To warm weather cheers!

A VARIETY PACK (HAIKU)

Model trains running

In a larger scaled garden

Model people’s fun!

Overheard much deals

How fertilizer is spread

Figures in your head

Steam train videos

Take us to climes we’ve not know

World travel TV

Depressed people do

What they can and not fall through

…The cracks

RAIN AND SLEET

RAIN AND SLEET

Rain and sleet–oh how neat–

For a Springtime day…

Sounds like winter’s hanging on

And will not go away!

Robins, ice pellets on the head

Will think the weather’s nuts…

But  this is New England,

No ifs ands or buts.

Warmer weather is promised–

Perhaps for next week…

When–I wonder–willi it shine

And from the ground flowers peek?

DRIZZLY DAYS MAKE DAZZLING DAISIES?

DRIZZLY DAYS MAKE DAZZLING DAISIES?

Today’s gloominess drives us crazy,

But think of the good to a daisy…

Good soaking rain

Restores life again,

Springtime life is amazing!!!

MAY STILL DO THIS…

MAY STILL DO THIS…

(A few Haiku)

Nearly five AM,

Writing off sleeplessness fine…

Wife wonders…where now?

–J.E.C.

Broke a bunny’s ear,

Other people’s stuff–oh dear!

Need GORILLA GLUE.

–J.E.C.

Saw a new haiku,

“Five” for the first two…

Seven syllables the end.

–J.E.C.

Robins stalk bare ground,

Springtime hope increases…

Snow just keeps coming!  😦

DIAMONDS GROW ON TREES

DIAMONDS GROW ON TREES

In springtime, diamonds on trees

Sweeten scents of ev’ry breeze…

Flowers white among green

Leaves are often seen,

Perfuming woodlands with ease.

In springtime, the white lilac

Is always welcomed back…

Few are the folk

Who cough and choke,

But wear antihistamine packs!

TWICE IN THE MORNING?

TWICE IN THE MORNING?

Is it pollen or just the spring,

How come he forgets everything…

His wife says he got

Two insulin shots,

We’ll see if he lives through the thing?

LAWN AND TREE NOISE MAKERS!

LAWN AND TREE NOISE MAKERS!

Springtime warmth has sprung

And numerous songbirds have sung…

Cacophony

In lawn and tree,

With nest materials have come.

SQUEAKS IN THE BED?

SQUEAKS IN THE BED?

Around about four a.m.

I hear, with the C-PAP on…

Some squeaks that can’t be me,

Maybe the bedsprings have gone!

Turning off the C-PAP machine

And laying very still…

Not moving in the bed,

It comes from the window sill.

The robins and sparrows are chirping

Awake at four a.m….

While the day is lightening grey,

I’ll never mistake them again!

APRIL HAIKU

APRIL HAIKU

Frost hides in shadow,

Cold sunshine sublimes black ice…

Lilies stick out tongues!

Motorcycles parked,

Club-ride snakes long–through downtown–

Traffic:  parade rest!

Passover chicken,

Roasted lambs in short supply…

No time for lamb care.

Easter Bunny’s eggs,

Hung on trees seasonally…

Plastic stocks gain ground.

Bird migrations start,

Robins parse out snowy lawns…

Geese and ducks’ pit stop.

Peeper frogs’ fast love,

Amphibians unfreezing…

Deer savor new shoots!

New shoes and dresses,

Everyone radiates life…

Springtime dress in flowers!
