Standard Time Blues,

Here in the darkened city!

The fear is that I’m alone in the dark—

I wonder why I chose to park…

So far away….!

Here at the end of my workday!

I walk out the door into the black–

I want to have my sunlight back

That was taken away!

Standard Time blues,

Here in depressing darkness!

Some of us gained an hour of sleep

But for four months we’re liable to weep

At the angst of it all!!!!

Sunday is coming–Eastern Standard time

Is coming back on that morning too…

Why always Sunday to adjust the time,

Are Christians the least violent crew?

–

I wouldn’t suggest it during Ramadan,

Or during Roshashanah….

Monday Night football would be just great,

Commercial revenue’d go up!

I guess Sunday is the least innocuous choice,

The least number of folks are disturbed…

The number of people in church with no voice

is why this practice won’t be curbed.
