GOD’S SPIRIT IS THE KEY

The Holy Spirit’s the key,

To renovating me…

Man’s way tried

Was unqualified

Failure with futility!

Dealing with what’s within,

My penchant for doing sin…

Spirit-led praise

Brightens days,

Letting healing begin.

Now to escape the system

That denies and tries  to resist Him…

Psychological

Isn’t logical,

When they think you should stay in?

GATEKEEPER HAIKU

GATEKEEPER HAIKU

Closing–opening

access to a loving heart

sanctum protected!

Mind of an old guy

Takes in all manner of sights

Most he keeps to self

People still stir hearts

Learning trust at the message

Responses guarded

Dreams’ reality

Hard to move from this to that

cardboard Brenda Star!

Gatekeeper on duty

Quality control agent

Pure sacrifices

The Holy one  comes

His Temple is within us

His Spirit keeps the gate.

Close gates on evil

Open to God’s holy love

Entrust hearts to God!

Mother’s skirt protects

Being near one’s Protector

God would spread His wings!

A REAL ANNOINTING MIRACLE

( maozisraelblog.blogspot.com )

A REAL ANNOINTING MIRACLE

Reading woman’s T-shirts

Printed across the chest..to flirt?

Blessings can bring

For messages sing

About things one shouldn’t skirt.

Rosa, our neighbor indeed,

Wore “YESHUAH”…Christian creed…

As well, on the back,

A “Property of” tract,

Evidencing Holy Spirit feed.

She told my wife and I

Of her miracle and why…

It’s rarely washed

And will never be tossed,

She said with a reverent sigh.

A healing service went to,

She gave the young folks more room…

To jump and praise

God with arms raised,

As caring believers do.

She felt, during praise time, oil,

Run down her arm (no foil)…

Her YESHUAH shirt,

Not soiled with dirt

Had big spots inside of oil!

Anointed oil signifies Spirit,

In the miracle of praise God shared it…

Christ’s human name

Blesses by same

If you’ll believe in Him–and bear it.

–Jonathan Caswell

NOTE:  “YESHUAH” is–I’m told–the Costa Rican language name for JESUS–the first name in English, from the Greek language, of the Lord Christ’s earthly first name.

The idea of oil representing the Holy Spirit and His anointing can be seen in the following Bible passages (NOT a complete listing):

GENESIS 28: 18-22

JAMES 5:14

MARK 6:13

EXODUS 30: 31-33

EXODUS 40:9

HEBREWS 1:9

1ST JOHN 2:27

BOOK OF THE ACTS 10:38

LUKE 4:18

ACCOUNTABILITY

ACCOUNTABILITY

She promised to ask each week

Her eyes I managed to meet…

Direct sharing

Shows more caring

Than an e-mail or Tweet.

She knows trouble too,

Her nurturing is of a view…

Where she’s had to ride

Disappointment inside,

But the Lord for her has been true.

We have not always agreed,

But my sister sees a brother in need…

She knows of my hurts,

I know she’s felt worse–

A spiritual sister, indeed.

THE EARNEST CHURCHMAN

THE EARNEST CHURCHMAN

In sin, the man withdrew

From what he loved to do…

Decided to quit

For reasons legit.

To spiritually grow more, too.

Afraid of “profession” faith,

He drew back to what was safe…

While others carried

On with varied

Employments Spirit-wraithed.*

Dying to self* it seems

Required more effort than he had means….

But over time

He followed God’s line

Restoring in Christ his own dreams.

Just recently singing in meter,

He started as a hymn songleader…

Taking his place

Before God’s face,

Worshipping as a fellow Spirit needer.

And suddenly asked to teach

On Sunday, an adult outreach…

With prayerful insight,

Will this be right-?

For wisdom to his Lord he’ll beseech.

–Jonathan Caswell

* wraithed…means something overshadowed by a ghost or something about to die.  The Holy Spirit is also called the Holy Ghost…and we believers are the ones who must die daily to ourselves and take up Christ’s cross, submitting ourselves to His Lordship.

GUILT…PRE AND POST-CONFESSION

GUILT…PRE- AND POST-CONFESSION

For a believer in Christ, two ways,

Of knowing what feeling guilt says…

Pre- and Post-

List’ning to the Holy Ghost,

Determines which answer to raise.

Finding a sin in life

And not fully dealing with, brings strife…

The Spirit convicts

While one’s ego tricks

Us to thinking this much guilt is rife.

Unless you confess and repent

The Holy Spirit is sent…

To nag you to see

That it’s not totally

Dealt with by personal intent.

This often feels like guilt,

Underwhich one’s stubbornness wilts…

This urging of Spirit,

How most hate to hear it

But He keeps us from our sinful tilts.

Listen, confess and repent,

For that is why His spirit is sent…

Ask forgiveness right then,

Accept it from Him

And resolve then a more Godly bent!

After the process is done

And victory in Jesus is won…

THEN if there’s guilt,

After seeking God’s ilk,

Then Deceiver’s temptations have come.
