A MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE

A MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE

It’s a merry Christmas  Eve,

God’s Son we will receive…

In the manger this night

The Child of God’s light!

Surely Santa knows just how

To through the world plow…

This year he’s using drones

To reach more homes!

It’s a merry Christmas Eve,

How shoppers bob and weave…

Driving here and there

For presents show they care.

Postal workers here stop,

Sorting mail by two o’clock…

All those items can wait

So the folks can celebrate!.-

Hurry up for Christmas Day,

Under trees a fine array…

Enjoy the food and song

For the return lines are long!

HAVE A MERRY, BLESSED, CHRISTMAS!!!!!

SO MERCY I’D KNOW…by Carl Gooch

SO MERCY I’D KNOW

Weak and weary, Lord I turn to you,

You give me rest–your love is true…

You are my strength and  my guard

When my struggles are too hard.

This heart of mine oppressed

The Son of God has blessed…

In my life filled with sin and pain,

He came into my soul to reclaim!

In my wandering youth lost, alone,

I saw your light–I’m your own…

My life was filled with sadness

Then you filled life with gladness!

Loving Lord, protect my days

And guide me by your word in your ways…

Oh Savior Divine, this debt I owe,

You were the price so mercy I’d know.

WINTER SOLSTICE WONDER

WINTER SOLSTICE WONDER

Celebrate the Son of God,

The Sun is getting higher…

Though we’re in the thick of night

Let’s raise a blazing fire.

Evergreens, eternal life

And hope in winter bringing…

Hark–I hear signs of life—

Winter cardinals singing!

Moonlit snow is blinding

To the wide awake…

All of us must ope’ our eyes,

New life to grab and take.

Winter’s grip is fading

Despite the coming storms…

Knowing we are in God’s Love

Is knowledge that warms!
