POETRY CHALLENGE—DAY #3.

THE QUOTE:

“Jesus wept.”–The GospelĀ  of John 11:35.

THE POEM:

The Apostle John tells the story,

Of Jesus waiting for God’s glory…

Lazarus died

And four days inside

His tomb would have smelled pretty gory!

Jesus waited up north

So He could call Lazarus forth…

Out from the dead

Filling with dread

Those who thought Him a poor sort.

The people saw Jesus cared

Far beyond what most were aware…

So also we

He lovingly sees,

Wanting us His nameĀ  bear.

We must die to sinning

Like he did–volunteering–

Lay ourselves at His feet,

All we are–complete–

With no more ego domineering.
