SUITCASE CONNECTORS—AYE!

The plot is becoming thicker,

His excuses start to flicker…

Won’t have solder

Each joint–don’t bother–

These connectors are just the ticket!

His N scale trains sit quiet,

Needs? He needn’t buy it…

All is in place

If only he’d face

This wiring project–just try it!!!

IN THE WOODS–SOME ONE’S DREAM

Many dreams lay abandoned,

Gathering weeds with abandon…

A building once good

Sits lost in the wood,

Hoping for someone’s attention!

A mill once useful sits,

Superceded by coffee grinder kits…

Technology slow

Has to go,

Or give investors fits.

Little mill in decay,

Perhaps best to go out this way…

Fond memories

Mumble in the trees,

Waiting for crumbling Day!

PT = E

PT = E

Poetry Time…equals battery time,

The “E” in the equation above…

Once fully charged and turned on

Th rest is a  matter of love.

Love for one’s readers and the process

That keeps one returning for more…

Chances to post in interesting ways

Ideas in poetic form.

The madness abated–I must go and rest

While waiting the pot to gurgle…

No plagerism allowed around here,

No need for the lazy to burgle!

We’ll say our goddbyes and continue life

Hopefully gaining material…

To give us more things to say

More wholesome than sugary cereal.

THE WAITING

THE WAITING…!

Stretching as long as one can,

According to the plan…

Have to wait

For a future date,

To enter Happy Land!

ROBIN SONG SING ALONG

ROBIN SONG SING ALONG

Listening to robin song

Waiting at the bank so long…

This drive-through line

In sunshine,

Listens to robin sing-song.

American Robins doodle

Notes—the whole kit and kaboodle…

Lyrical phrases

For day phases,

A far cry from “Yankee Doodle!”

These birds, I learned in school,

Vary song patterns as a rule…

Differentiated

From rivals anticipated,

Each sings it a little part new!

From the Bird Lab at Cornell*

I learned one can tell…

Morning, day and night

Each tune varies a mite,

And different calls for different tales to tell!

–Jonathan Caswell

* The Bird Laboratory at Cornell University, http://www.allaboutbirds.org/   website has recorder robin song, info and several webcams of birds under their care.  The author took  Onithology at the State University of New York College in nearby Cortland, NY….where he learned about male variation of song to preserve territorial claims.   The author has an M.S.E. fron S.U.C.-Cortland.

CAMPFIRE GIRL FIELD DAY

CAMPFIRE GIRL FIELD DAY

My mother wouldn’t step over

A black snake in her way…

She wouldn’t cross that field again

Until the end of day!

She knew the snake was sunning itself,

So when the sun went down…

It would take itself elsewhere to sleep

And she could walk home to town.

WAITING TIME

WAITING TIME

He tries to hold out and wait,

Although he does appreciate….

Nice clean restrooms,

His time may come soon

If cleaners don’t accelerate!

A CHORUS LINE

A CHORUS LINE

(Post-St. Patrick’s Day)

CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE,

Made into a pot of soup…

CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE,

Spuds and carrots, too…

CORNED BEEF AND CABBAGE,

Take some BEANO* with a bowlful…

Corned beef and cabbage, waiting for you!

–Jonathan Caswell

*BEANO is a product made of enzymes to help reduce dietary gas.
