HAS SPRING SPRUNG?

Weather forecasters claim,

That warm weather’s coming to tame….

Springtime chills

Freezing point ills,

The not-rising temperature game!

Seventies projected Sunday

Have been moved to Monday…

Marathon runners

Do their wonders,

Fighting heat stroke all day.

Patriot’s Day for me,

Is watching them run on TV…

Then be in this spot

To work my slot,

Just like any other day!

MISSED (FOR NOW)-!

MISSED (FOR NOW)-!

Pop-up showers forecast,

One or two threatened but passed…

Our nook

Beside a brook,

So untie me from this mast!

PRELUDE TO DOWNPOUR?

PRELUDE TO DOWNPOUR?

Lightning and thunder around,

Portraying just light and sound…

So when will the rains

Pitter-pattering refrain

Come and moisten the ground?

Anticipation nears,

As animals show their fears…

Hiding under beds

Covering their heads,

Possibly shaking their ears?

To the radar most people go,

Whether it is rain or snow…

Technology

Should know, you see,

So that forecasters can crow!

THERE’S HOPE…!

THERE’S HOPE…!

Forty days til Spring Equinox,

Another weekend storm is near…

Forecasts range from a dusting to a foot

And after that, see what appears.

It’s getting long in the tooth,

This winter’s dragging on…

We’re tired of this stuff forsooth

It’s time that it be gone!

Way down South is worse than us,

They’re having a bad time…

It’s enough to make them cuss

And wish for normal times.

That we’ve been colder than Alaska freaks

Us out, considering…

That global warming is  a bust,

Despite murmurings!

AS FORECAST…

AS FORECAST…

Two guys sit at a shared open window,

Listening to the rain…

Heavy at times, then lightening up,

An off-again, on-again refrain.

A wall clock tocks off steadily

The rhythm of days…

Showers or no it’s cloudy,

As folks go their ways.

I must soon go back

And end this interlude…

Enjoying early morning

As wet weather has ensued.

HOT TO TROT?

HOT TO TROT?

The rain forecast for last night

In these parts is not in sight…

Most “hottened” tots

Are in A.C.-ed spots,

Temperature’s as high as a kite!
