BORDERLINE ‘TWEEN FREEZE AND THAW!

(To the tune of “London Bridges Falling Down”)

Borderline ‘tween freeze and thaw,

Freeze and thaw

Freeze and thaw

Borderline ‘tween freeze and thaw…

Where are the salt trucks?

First it rains and then it snows,

Then it snows

Then it snows,

First it rains and then it snows…

Mixed precipitation!

How are the roads out there right now,

There right now

There right now,

How are the roads out there right now?

Not frozen over!

Do you think I’ll drive safely,

Drive safely

Drive safely,

Do you think I’ll drive safely?

Better be careful!

THUNDER IN THE CLOUDS

Forecast for thunder and rain,

A weird green-yellow light came…

Feels so humid

It’s been rumored,

We’re in for more of the same!

(The initials of the Poet-author…I guess he gets tired of spellcheck repeating that he has spelled his own last name incorrectly!)

PROMISES, PROMISES!

PROMISES, PROMISES!

The rain’s finally started

After threatening thunders and clouds…

So many tried to avoid it,

Getting out before the crowds.

He shut off the sprinklers early

Because it had started to rain…

No need  being in a hurry

To water the lawns again.

Those winds had blown so wildly before,

It felt like the storm would come soon…

But waited until the wind calmed down

In New England it’s hard to assume…!

FLOOD WARNINGS

FLOOD WARNINGS

Two-to-three an hour

From Albany (NY) south…

From mid-Hudson River,

Down to its mouth:

Flash flood warnings for the land

Where I used to live….

Hoping bridge abutments

Will refuse to give!

THAT FOUR-LETTER WORD…

THAT FOUR-LETTER WORD…!

It may be early April,

But rain turns into snow…

We’ll have our thrills in the Worcester hills*

Should anyone want to know!

Seems like the next few days

Will be cold and nastier too…

Just when many of us have

Recovered from the flu!

It will warm up sometime,

By the weekend, so we hope…

Or else those hills will resemble

Icy downhill slopes!
