So humid so where is the haze,
That mistiness through which sun plays…
In an afternoon
After monsoon,
To help us enjoy sunny days!

Lo, the night be cooling–
Tomorrow will be hot…
Whether we are ready
The swelter’s what we got!
–
Occasional spot showers
Cooling some of the day…
Inclement weather glowers
Over a picnic stay.
–
Cooler night–sleeping better
without steamy heat…
Too much humidity
And folks here feel beat!
–
I wonder if tomato juice
Is the only “cure” for skunk…
Considering that the grocery store
Of this may not have “thunk.”

ANTICIPATING THE WEATHER
The wife suggested I tote
To work, my yellow raincoat…
May be unneeded
But caution is heeded,
In case I fall out of the boat.
–
Some of us don’t have cell phones
Or tablets to control drones…
We chose to be
More antiquity
Than modern society condones.
–
For one thing, there is price,
Unless a “free” phone would suffice…
“Free stuff” isn’t free
Which few folks see,
MORE taxes should make us think twice!
–
We do use media to deduce
Whether a raincoat will find use…
If memory serves,
A storm sometimes swerves
Then my coat is a convenient ruse.

“HEINZ-57” WEATHER
Don’t want to complain my friends,
But New England weather tends…
To often be
Full of variety,
Whatever the overcast sends.
–
This morning we started with rain,
Snow flakes and sleet once again…
Often all three
In waves like the sea,
The morning a dreary refrain.
–
It stopped in the afternoon,
The sunlight made its way out soon…
Our roads will have dried
By my midnight ride,
Any black ice well-lit by the moon!

SUMMER SOLSTICE EVE
Oh how time does fly
And who would believe….
The longest day of the year
Is tomorrow–tonight its eve.
–
A blink or two in time
It was just past December…
Complaining about the cold,
Does anyone remember?
–
One blogger I read said that
It’s all down hill from now…
Forgetting that hotter months
July and August
Cry loud.
–
Of weather what can I say,
The warmup is welcome to me…
It’s close to the longest day
But I look to the summer with glee!

DEEP FREEZE REPRISE
With a single digit score,
Some of us cannot take much more…
International Falls
Freezing temp. enthralls,
But some of us are furnace-poor!
–
We’re not used to it this cold,
Especially the poor and old…
Who don’t have cover
Huddling with each other,
Enough to warmth enfold.
–
Electric blankets are fine
‘Til the meter starts to whine…
Moving blanket piles
Won’t leave many smiles,
And will you make the bathroom in time?

WINTER’S FIRST DAY
The first day of winter,
A glorious thought…
Right before Christmas,
A holiday fraught
With people running
Preparing to be merry,
More rain is forecast…
Of ice please be wary!
