HER CABLE-KNIT SWEATER

HER CABLE-KNIT SWEATER

You know that poetry,

Like sculpture, is meant to be…

A way to work

Out when over-perked,

Reality sensibly.

The sight of her lovely sweater

On her an attention-getter…

A wintry day

With sudden HOORAY!

I was in love, though I knew better!!!

I happened to wear one too,

Wore it out til it wouldn’t do…

A High School sweater

That can’t hold together

Forever, feels so cruel.

Like I said, worked out my feelings

Of attraction through artistic dealings…

Poetry is faster

Than shaping plaster,

Less embarrassing than cartwheelings!

I know it is okay

To have feelings this way…

Inappropriateness

Never will bless,

Creativity saves the day!

A QUESTION OF HOW AND WHY

A QUESTION OF HOW AND WHY

Bitterness breeds around the edge

Of what seems no more…

Trying to make things work only

Makes a person sore.

Soreness rises with the thought

Of what no more may be…

Without having great expense

And severe penalty!

Questions rise unanswered,

But for consistent “noes”…

Hopes alive must be shed

Like worn out clothes.
